Results: Glasgow Uni 5 Mile Road Race

The Glasgow University Hare and Hounds annual 5 mile road race took place the Saturday just passed. There was a strong turnout of green-clad Haries taking to the course and the day saw some cracking performances as well. Steph Davis put in a terrific run finishing 4th in the women's race and, on his club debut, Mike Crawley picked up a very impressive 7th place. However, despite those fantastic performances, pride of place must go to the clubs irrepressible ex-captain; Mr Michael Gillespie, who put in another fantastic run for the green-machine finishing in 3rd place. He also managed to claim the scalp of a certain Commonwealth Games finalist to round off a top days running by the Haries.

Hopefully this sets down a fantastic marker for the club to take onto our home race of BRAIDS this weekend (if you haven't already, sign up HERE) and to carry forward into Scot's Unis the following week. A strong green turn out for both these races is a must!

Results: Allan Scally Road Relays

On Saturday, a glorious and sunny autumnal day, the Haries made their annual trip to compete in the Allan Scally Road Relays, organised by Shettleston Harriers, encompassing the Scottish Universities Road Relays competition. A solid Men's performance saw the Men's A team taking 3rd place overall and second place in the universities race, sadly coming in behing Glasgow, a wrong that the men will be eager to right when we take to the fields for Scots Uni's XC in three weeks time. The Men's B team also had a strong finish, 5th overall and second in the universities race. Our Ladies team placed 7th overall and 4th in the universities race a strong finish to build on into the rest of the season, a big thanks to those that stepped up to the A team and performed strongly to fill in for injured Haries!
