EUH+H DOMINANT IN ST ANDREWS - Scottish University Cross Country Championship Results

On Saturday 19th November the Haries travelled to St Andrews to contest the Scottish University Cross Country Titles. It was great to see what we believe to be a record number of green vests making the trip (over 50!) up to St Andrews to compete. The club was traveling up to defend its Overall and Men's team titles while also seeking to recapture the Ladies' team title from Dundee.

The conditions on the day were perfect - clear skies and mild temperatures making both running and spectating conditions ideal. The course, while mostly flat, was over the difficult terrain of ploughed farmers fields. Heavily rutted and wet in places making it very challenging underfoot. The event also saw what was believed to be a record sized field competing - with the most competitors in the history of the event! Click read more for the full race report.

Braids 2011, couldn't have seen a nicer day for the races! With a 'little' rain overnight to soften the ground, conditions were perfect, and with the largest field the race has seen in the past few years (349 runners) all was set for a great day's racing.

Edinburgh University Men's and Ladies' A teams took great victories in the Men's and Ladies races. Niall Sheehan of Lasswade was the first man over the line with Claire Ward the first lady across for HBT. Full individual and team results along with a race report will be online by tomorrow evening. It was a beautiful day for the race with 25 additional runners to last year!

Any corrections in results should be notified to euhhraces [at] gmail [dot] com. Any corrections notified on-day will be in tomorrows updated results.

Allan Scally Road Relays (Incorporating Scot's Uni's Road Relays) - Glasgow - 29/10/2011

The Allan Scally Road Relays incorporating the Scottish Universites Road Relay Championships took place on a rainy Glasgow day, making a change from the glorious conditions that the race has enjoyed over the past couple of years. Due to a combination of other commitments, injury and illness the club found originally strong teams somewhat depleted, however, up against it they managed to put in strong performances and bring home second place in the Universities race for the Ladies' and third place in the Men's.

Scottish National Cross Country Relays 2011 - Cumbernauld - 22/10/2011

On a blustery Saturday the green vests of EUH+H made the annual pilgrimage to the National Cross Country Relays held in Cumbernauld. While the forecast rain held off the wind provided challenging conditions with the uphill sections pitting the teams against strong headwinds.

The relay champs always brings out the best teams north of the border, and as it is not a University competition a number of the clubs best runners are attached to their regional clubs of first claim. Nonetheless the club had two Men’s teams and four Ladies teams out to pit themselves against the best.

Both the Men’s and Women’s A teams came in 19th. The Men coming in 19/129 teams in the Men’s race and the Ladies 19/88, both strong finishes with a number of runners stepping up to the A teams for the first time.

The Ladies’ B team came in a very good 24th keeping the A on it’s toes with the Men’s B team coming in in 46th place. Full results and palces for all the teams are below (click read more):
