Allan Scally Road Relays (Incorporating Scot's Uni's Road Relays) - Glasgow - 29/10/2011

The Allan Scally Road Relays incorporating the Scottish Universites Road Relay Championships took place on a rainy Glasgow day, making a change from the glorious conditions that the race has enjoyed over the past couple of years. Due to a combination of other commitments, injury and illness the club found originally strong teams somewhat depleted, however, up against it they managed to put in strong performances and bring home second place in the Universities race for the Ladies' and third place in the Men's.

Scottish National Cross Country Relays 2011 - Cumbernauld - 22/10/2011

On a blustery Saturday the green vests of EUH+H made the annual pilgrimage to the National Cross Country Relays held in Cumbernauld. While the forecast rain held off the wind provided challenging conditions with the uphill sections pitting the teams against strong headwinds.

The relay champs always brings out the best teams north of the border, and as it is not a University competition a number of the clubs best runners are attached to their regional clubs of first claim. Nonetheless the club had two Men’s teams and four Ladies teams out to pit themselves against the best.

Both the Men’s and Women’s A teams came in 19th. The Men coming in 19/129 teams in the Men’s race and the Ladies 19/88, both strong finishes with a number of runners stepping up to the A teams for the first time.

The Ladies’ B team came in a very good 24th keeping the A on it’s toes with the Men’s B team coming in in 46th place. Full results and palces for all the teams are below (click read more):

Dumyat Hill Race - Scottish University Hill Championships - Haries take the double!!

Edinburgh University Hare and Hounds runners had great results at the annual Dumyat Hill Race in Stirling. The race also combines with it the Scottish University Hill Championships. A brilliant run from Hector Haines saw him come in as FIRST Man back in the University Race taking the Scottish University title as well as a fantastic 3rd place overall in a race which saw Murray Strain of our Alumni club take the win only a few seconds off the course record.

Christina Rankin also put in a great run to WIN the Ladies Scottish Hill title making it a double for the Haries in the Universities championship as well as a brilliant second place in the overall ladies race.

Although the race always falls during exams meaning there is a lower turn out from the club, a hardy group of 11 hill runners pitted themselves against the tough and scenic course and full results are available by clicking 'read more' below.
