The Hare and Hounds is the University's cross country, hill, road and long-distance running club. We like to think of it as a place where runners of all abilities can meet up, run and have a few beers (or diet cokes) together.
It often helps to find the motivation to run, and to continue running, if you do it with other folk. We want you to run with us, and have a good time doing it. That way, you're more likely to stick with it. The banter is good, and the socials afterwards are better still. For proof, see the photos or read the banter on the forum.
We encourage competition and are more than happy to get people involved - the buzz of racing just can't be beaten. Obviously, we like to (and sometimes do) win, but it's much more important to get people running. Over the past few years, the Haries have had some excellent athletes and some cracking results - a trend we want to continue. Last season we sucessfully defended the Scottish Universities road relays and cross-country titles, along with the all-important boat-racing (as well as pie-eating!) title we won back from the Hunter's Bog Trotters last year. This was coupled with a 5th place at BUSA cross-country. We hope to do just as well, or better, in 2006-07.
