Four teams of athletes wandered over to Glasgow to compete in the Alan Scally road relays, including the Scottish University championships.
The boys A team (Clarky, Matthew, Robbie, Benny) placed 7th overall and second university home. Unfortunately, that means a rather nice piece of silverware is now residing in the Clyde's trophy cabinet -- we will just have to ensure that we retain the SUSF trophy in December. See here. The B team (Huw, George, Rob, James) came in at a respectable 29th.
The girls did really well too, arriving in very close succesion at 7th (Hannah, Vicky, Jessie) and 8th (Rose, Charlotte, Briony) places (4th and 5th university, respectively). I think how close the teams were shows the strength in depth we have with our ladies! Hats off in particular to fresher Hannah, for whom this was the longest race of her life and she was second fastest Harie.
