Overtraining Syndrome

Overtraining is caused when you are training at a high intensity leading to your body not recovering enough in between training sessions.  Knowing when you are overtraining or at risk of is crucial.

Symptoms of Overtraining can be

  • Feeling tired
  • Elevated heart rate that is higher than your norms
  • Loss of motivation
  • Injury
  • Loss of appetite
  • Frequent illness

There are many symptoms of overtraining, and it is vital we all find a right balance between our working, social and exercise lives.  Keeping a diary is an easy way to monitor our thoughts and feelings on our lives, always remember a happy runner is a good runner.
