Our ethos is to cater for all abilities, and this includes top level performance runners. The Haries are a club competing at a high standard with top level athletes running for us. We regularly challenge non-university clubs within the Scottish cross-country leagues, and some members even compete internationally.

Below you will find a training plan for semester one (published August 2017), information on the performance program provided by the sports union, and details of our coach Alister Russell who sets the sessions. If you already train at home and are making the transition to university running, Alister is more than happy to work with you and your home coach to make sure you get the most out of the training schedule.

Our Coach
Alister has been coaching for over 20 years, and has been coaching professionally since 2003. He holds a BSc(hons) in Sports Science, and is a British Athletics Level 3 Endurance Coach and a British Triathlon Federation Level 3 Coach. He is a TriathlonScotland coach education tutor and has been designated as the TriathlonScotland run training specialist.
Alister has worked with athletes ranging from beginners to Olympic medalists and has worked in UK, US, Canada, Singapore and Switzerland.
