Follow the Facebook event page here for up-to-date information leading up to the big day!

The ‘KB5’ road race is held every year by Edinburgh University Hare & Hounds. The race starts and finishes inside the Kings Buildings Science and Engineering Campus, on West Mains Road. The course consists of a 5 mile road loop, with quite a few hills, though none of them steep. All participants must be 17 years old or over on the day of the race.

A third of all proceeds from the race will go to charity – we are very pleased to announce that, like last year, we will be supporting Cardiac Risk in the Young (C-R-Y) again. They do great work in reducing the number of young sudden cardiac deaths (YSCD). CRY also offers support to young people diagnosed with potentially life-threatening cardiac conditions and offers bereavement support to families affected by YSCD.

Entry: Pre-entries £5 (£7 for non-SAL members).

The race finishes on James Dewar Road in the car park outside KB House.

For health and safety, you MUST run on pavements at all opportunities. Marshals will be placed at crossroads, to warn oncoming traffic.

Prize giving will take place promptly after the race, in the Common Room in KB House. There will be team and individual medals, as well as a £30 prize to the first person to beat the senior course records (see below). There will also be a bake sale and refreshments.
